I cast on for my Cadbury Owls sweater just 13 short days ago; I took a break of 2 days to work on my hearts for the sheepish heart bomb (check out the results from around the world!!) and I'm now past the sleeves. I've joined the sleeves and body in the round; and now I'm just 2 rows from starting THE OWLS!!!!
I like my layers so I decided to knit some short sleeves, I found inspiration on Ravelry and just got on with it. I was most nervous about the sleeves, but in actual fact they worked up so quickly (just 8 rounds) I just didn't get much time to feel the nerves.I have to admit now I'm mostly worried about the short rows, wrapping and turning?? I'm confused but I'm sure I will figure out with some help from Ravelry.
What are you working on this week? I am playing along with Ginny and Tami, as always. Have a knitty wednesday.

Oh this colour is so cadbury's chocolate. I'm impressed how quickly it's progressing. It takes me ages to knit a sweater. I'm sure you won't have any trouble with the next part you seem to be doing really well. Just hope it's not tempting you to eat too much chocolate :)

I'm with Ali, ages to knit a sweater! And honestly, I have never done an adult one - that might take years! But, all of my knits for my kids seem to be about as quick as I can go :-) Beautiful color!
ReplyDeleteIts coming together and it really is the colour of cadbury's chocolate !
ReplyDeleteNice color!
ReplyDeleteFor the short rows, you should check out the Craftsy mini-class with Carol Feller. It's free!! She demonstrates four ways of doing them. The class material is really good too. I refer to the handout whenever I need to tackle some short rows. Here's the link:

Good luck!
Short rows are nothing, just follow the instructions and don't over think it. It will be gorgeous when done!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple and can't wait to see purple owls. My big sister finished an owl jumper in January. It was beautiful but she wore it once, washed it and accidentally felted it! It doesn't even fit her 4 year old daughter now :(
ReplyDeleteYou're making amazing progress! The color is lovely. I can't wait to see the owls:)
ReplyDeleteGerman short rows. I've just learnt about them. You'll never regret it :) Do a search on google, there's a fab couple of videos featuring some rainbow yarn.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great color and awesome progress!
ReplyDeleteOwls is such a marvelous pattern! It looks like you're doing a wonderful job here! I bet the rest of the sweater will go quickly now that you're to the fun bit.
ReplyDeleteI like the color. My favorite.
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome so far. I love the short sleeve idea. And that sweater pattern is adorable. I love the owls that are going to be on it.
